Széchenyi Thermal Bath

In the indoor section, you can choose from a total of 11 therapeutic pools. These pools cover a wide range of temperatures: the lowest is 28°C, while the highest reaches up to 40°C. Whichever pool you choose, the calm elegance of the bath palace will surround you.

If you feel like relaxing, the spacious relaxation areas offer everything you need for complete relaxation, and a series of saunas and steam cabins are also available. The spa atmosphere is further enhanced by a 20°C cooling pool and an 18°C immersion pool.

Thermal Water

For a long time, it was believed that healing waters were only found on the Buda side of the capital. This misconception was dispelled by Vilmos Zsigmondy’s deep drilling between 1868 and 1878, which brought nearly 75°C water to the surface. Today, the thermal water for the entire bath comes from the Saint Stephen Well, which draws its hot water from over 1200 meters deep.

The calcium-magnesium-bicarbonate therapeutic water contains significant amounts of chloride, sulfate, and fluoride, making it beneficial for various diseases. It naturally treats degenerative joint diseases, chronic and subacute arthritis, and has a positive effect on post-accident treatments. When used in drinking cures, it effectively treats gastritis, osteoporosis, gout metabolic disorders, and some forms of kidney stone diseases.

Wellness Experience

Széchenyi Bath offers many opportunities for rejuvenation. Detoxification and metabolism stimulation are ensured by 10 saunas. The Finnish and volcano saunas are recommended for those who can withstand heat, with temperatures ranging from 70°C to 100°C. For a gentler experience, the 50°C aroma and light sauna offer a perfect option.

If guests wish to relax while clearing their airways, they can take advantage of the bath’s steam cabins. The offer includes a wet, salt-inhalation steam cabin and a thermal cascade hot chamber. In addition, guests can enjoy aquafitness classes and massages.

Services

Carefree relaxation is guaranteed with rooftop sunbathing areas, value storage, cabin lockers, and a fitness room that can be used free of charge from 6:45 AM to 8:45 PM. During the winter months, the possibility of night bathing attracts many visitors. If you forgot your towel or swimsuit, you can rent them at the local rental service.

Swimming Pool

The 50-meter-long, 26-28°C swimming pool encourages active relaxation enthusiasts, while the 38°C sitting pool provides the perfect setting for relaxation or a pleasant afternoon chat. Fans of massage elements can enjoy a 30-34°C experience pool, where the whirlpool, neck shower, and high-pressure water jets have beneficial effects.

The closed section of the swimming pool also includes a warm water preparation, teaching, and weight bath pool. For sauna lovers, there are two 18°C immersion pools to quickly cool down their heated bodies.

Dining Options

After a good bath, you’re sure to work up an appetite, so the Széchenyi Bath has a buffet and a restaurant. Visitors can enjoy snacks, drinks, and coffee, as well as choose from the daily fresh menu’s main dishes.
