Located in Budapest’s 7th District on Erzsébet körút, the New York Palace is one of the most iconic buildings on the Grand Boulevard. The palace, built in an eclectic style, opened its doors in October 1894. In the early 1900s, the café on the ground floor became a hub for literary and artistic circles and editorial offices, making it famous.
In 2001, the Boscolo Group acquired the building and, following a complete renovation, reopened it as a luxury hotel. This restoration earned the Europa Nostra Medal in 2007. A special feature of the palace is the reopening of the legendary New York Café, restored to its former splendour. The café was awarded the title of “The Most Beautiful Café in the World” in 2011 and 2013.
