Attractions

Sharks
The main highlight of the Tropicarium is the 12-meter-long observation tunnel. Here, you can admire colorful corals and the fish swimming among them up close, while giant sea creatures may glide overhead at any moment. From large ray species to brown reef sharks, you can encounter numerous fascinating species in their authentic environments.

Ray-Touching Pool
The children’s favorite section, the ray-touching pool, has been completely renovated. Now, all the pool walls are made of glass, providing even better visibility for little ones. With patience and a bit of luck, you can even touch the rays swimming near the surface. This unique experience is one that adults shouldn’t miss either!

Hungarian Fauna
The Tropicarium doesn’t just showcase the ocean’s wonders. The native aquatic life of Hungary takes center stage near the entrance, where carp, pike-perch, barbel, grass carp, and rudd frolic in the water. You can also spot rare species like the golden stream minnow and bottom-dwelling sturgeon.

Tropical Rainforest
The next stop on the zoo tour takes you to a lush area surrounded by ficus trees and palms. The tropical atmosphere is heightened by golden carp, mist, and constant bird song.
Tip! Birds fly freely here, so if you want to capture magical photos, spend some time in this room. You might spot species like the glossy starling, fork-tailed roller, and Amur oriole.

In this section, the Tropicarium’s alligators bask under the sun, though children often gravitate toward the koi carp pool. At this spot, you can buy zoo snacks, and the fish are always eager for a treat. Their swirling, colorful groups guarantee laughter and lasting memories.

Gallery Level
After exploring the tropical environment, head to the gallery via a gently sloping ramp. Here, you’ll find animal species from around the world. The arthropod collection includes stick insects, bird-eating spiders, Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and giant praying mantises, while amphibians like poison dart frogs, toads, and tomato frogs add variety.

Reptile enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either, with exhibits featuring dwarf caimans, iguanas, chameleons, turtles, and various snakes. The most popular attractions are the amusingly cute cotton-top tamarin and golden lion tamarin, while kids love the guinea pig farm with its low fences.
